Courtney Love Is Publishing Her Memoir Later This Year

'My Story' is due out in December

Autobiographies by rock stars are really popular right now so, naturally, that means that everyone wants to strike while the iron is hot. Morrissey released a very successful autobiography last week and on December 4, Courtney Love will publish an autobiography of her own. Billboard magazine reports that Courtney‘s memoir, titled My Story, is about 400 pages long … but what, pray tell, will Courtney cover in her book? Read on to find out.

Morrissey isn’t the only rocker getting in the autobiography game; add Courtney Love to that mix. The former Hole frontwoman and wife of Kurt Cobain will release her own memoir, published through Macmillan Publishers, later this year, Consequence of Sound reports. A posting on Amazon lists “Courtney Love: My Story” at 400 pages and with a Dec. 15 release date. According to the book description, Love’s autobiography will tackle the singer’s drug use, her early life as a stripper and her relationships with Edward Norton, Billy Corgan and Trent Reznor, among many more topics. In an interview last July, Love told Billboard the memoir wouldn’t be a “kissy-telly” affair. “In fact, you’d think I was the Virgin Mary from his book so far — but that doesn’t mean there’s not juicy parts in it,” she said. “It’s just juicy parts about ME, not other people.” The book’s debut will precede a new album, tentatively titled “Died Blonde,” which could see an early 2014 release date.

I’m not gonna lie, I wanna read this book. I bet it’ll be entertaining, to say the least. C. Love isn’t the type of woman to mince words or censor herself so I wonder how much restraint she plans to exercise. December 4 isn’t far away so, yeah, we’ll find out very soon what Courtney Love has to say about her own life. I’m also curious to hear this new album she’s been talking about for some time now. Courtney was in rare form the last time I saw her in concert. Here’s hoping she’s cleaned up her act enough to remain an artist worth caring about.
